The Nemeas have a soft and bouncy feel and provide grip on both road and trail - ideal if you're looking for a first pair of go-everywhere barefoot sandals. They are named after the athletic games of Nemea that were first held in 573 BC. Events included various foot races on the stadium track - like the hoplitodromos which was run in full hoplite armour - and the pentathlon - running-discus-javelin-wrestling-long jump. The victors received a crown of wild celery. The Nemeas got named after these games for their versatility.

Footbed - 0,8 mm PU rubber with a fine honeycomb pattern, it is grippy and easy to clean
Sole - 6 mm Vibram SuperNewflex sole with a 1,5 mm deep multidirectional honeycomb tread pattern
Total thickness - 6,8 mm
3-in-1 strap system - One continuous nylon strap is fixed to the sole with a full metal plug. A single sliding buckle gives you three options for wearing. They're shipped as pictured in what we call the diagonal-fixed set-up. This is the most all-round set-up that we've chosen as the standard set-up for our sandals.

Optional grounding - a conductive thread, woven into the toe-strap, connects the metal fastener underneath the sandal with your feet and enables the transfer of free electrons between the earth and your body.
