ZAROS
All-weather sandal for rainy days and wet and muddy trails
The Zaros are the sandals of choice if you need to be prepared for bad weather. They provide grip in wet, gritty and muddy conditions and on slippery and uneven surfaces. They feature two-sided traction; The footbed has a knob pattern to provide grip when your feet are wet, and to allow water to be expelled from underneath your feet, like the profile of a tire. Zaros in old Greek means a place with a lot of water. They’re thin and flexible to give you that barefoot feel, and they’re just thick enough to protect you from rocks, roots and trail debris (beech nut shells amongst our favourites).
Footbed - 3 mm grip top profiled footbed which will become softer as you break them in - your feet will probably need to get used to it at first.
Sole - 6 mm Vibram TANK Newflex rubber sole with 2.5 mm multi-directional tread pattern.
Total thickness - 9 mm
3-in-1 strap system - One continuous nylon strap is fixed to the sole with a full metal plug. A single sliding buckle gives you three options for wearing. They're shipped as pictured in what we call the diagonal-fixed set-up. This is the most all-round set-up that we've chosen as the standard set-up for our sandals.
